Uganda 2022 was an amazing trip for me and my team. Our project was to build a wall using bricks to keep people from trying to grow things or put livestock on the Teen Missions base. We had to start by clearing land, cutting trees, and digging the trench so we could lay the foundation. We used concrete that we mixed to lay a footer, then started mixing mortar so we could lay bricks. while all of this might sound simple its a big process to dig, mix and make all the things we needed, but we found joy in all of it! The best part of it all in my opinion was during the second half of the work day kids would come and watch us work, while some will argue that it was distracting, it was so fun to see them and dance and sing with them. their favorite part was trying on our work gloves that were way too big for them. if you were having even the slightest of bad days, those kids could truly brighten it up!
